               The  other  two  prepositions  of  direction  are  combinations  formed  by  adding  "to"  to  the
               interrelated prepositions of location.




               ON + TO = onto: signifies movement towards a surface


               IN + TO = into: signifies movement towards the inside of a something.

                     The paper went into the litter can.

               Point of subject: the paper is in the garbage can.


                     The whale washed up onto the seashore.


               Point of subject: the whale is on the shore.
               PREPOSITION OF AGENT

               Preposition for agentis used for a thing which is a cause of another thing in the sentence. These
               prepositions are usually placed to connect the doer and the doing, basically the noun and the
               verb. Agent, as you know, is the connector. It’s that which makes something happen. So that
               means Preposition of Agency or Instrumentality are placed in a sentence to fulfill the purpose of
               showing an agent.
