        TEST, MEASUREMENT & EVALUATION IN PHYSICAL EDUCATION ARE THE DEVICES FOR COLLECTING ESSENTIAL
        DETAILS REGARDING THE NEEDS, CAPACITIES, ABILITIES AND ATTITUDES OF SPORTS PERSONS.
        DEFINATION OF TEST

        A TEST  IS A PROCEDURE TO CHECK THE QUALITY, PERFORMANCE OR RELIABILITY OF SOMETHING.

        DEFINATION OF MEASUREMENT

        MEASUREMENT IS THE USE OF TESTS AND TECHNIQUES TO COLLECT INFORMATION  OR DATA ABOUT A SPECIFIC SKILLS
        OR FITNESS LEVEL OF AN INDIVIDUAL.


        DEFINATION OF EVALUATION

        IT IS A TECHNIQUE BY WHICH  WE COME TO KNOW AT WHAT EXTENT THE OBJECTIVES ARE BEING ACHIEVED.

        IMPORTANCE OF TEST MEASUREMENT AND EVALUATION IN SPORTS

            1.  FOR GETTING KNOWLEDGE ABOUT THE PROGRESS
            2.  FOR PREPARATION OF EFFECTIVE PLANNING
            3.  FOR KNOWING THE ABILITIES AND CAPACITIES
            4.  FOR DISCOVERING THE NEEDS OF PARTICIPANTS
            5.  FOR MOTIVATION
            6.  FOR CLASSIFICATIONS OF SPORTS PERSONS
            7.  FOR KNOWING THE ACHIEVEMENTS IN FUTURE
            8.  FOR RESEARCH AND EXPERIMENTATION


            CALCULATION OF BMI( BODY MASS INDEX)

            IT IS A VERY USEFUL TOOL TO ESTIMATE A HEALTHY BODY WEIGHT BASED ON AND  TO IDENTIFY THE WEIGHT
            PROBLEM. BMI IS VERY EASY TO MEASURE AND EVALUATE. IT WAS INVENTED BY ADOLPHE QUETELET.

            1.  ANOTHER FORMULA = HEIGHT AND WEIGHT MEASUREMENT
            2.  CALCULATION OF BMI

            BMI(BODY MASS INDEX) = BODY WEIGHT/HEIGHT X HEIGHT

            NOTE: WEIGHT OF  KILOGRAM AND HEIGHT IN METER
