Female reproductive system

               It consists of -
               1. a pair of ovaries,
               2. a pair of fallopian tubes/oviducts
               3. Uterus
               4. Vagina.

               Female main reproductive organ

Ovaries – Each human female contains two almond-shaped ovaries located in
the lower part of abdominal cavity near the kidney. Each ovary is connected by a
                   ligament to the uterus.

 They produce the female sex cells called eggs or ova and also produce
female sex hormones called estrogens and progesterone.

 Usually, one ovum is produced every month during the fertile years of a
                       woman.

Fallopian Tube - Long muscular tubes which carry egg from the ovary to the
uterus and provide appropriate environment for its fertilisation.

               Female accessory reproductive organs

 Accessory reproductive organs associated with human females are uterus
                       and vagina.
 The uterus is a large, inverted pear-shaped, muscular structure that lies
behind the bladder. If fertilisation takes place, the embryo gets attached to the
wall of uterus and grows there until birth.
