Explanation:
When we divide a number with another number the number
gets equally distributed.
In the division, remainder is a left over number which we
get after dividing two numbers.
Symbol of division- ÷
Terms in division are
Dividend- is the number that is being divided or
distributed.
Divisor- is the number by which the dividend is to be
divided.
Quotient- is the answer after we divide one number
by another.
Remainder- is a left over number which we get after
dividing two numbers.
Steps to divide-
arrange the numbers
count the multiplication table of the divisor
while you are counting the multiplication table stop when
you get the dividend
the number that is being multiplied to the divisor to get
the dividend is the quotient.
subtract the dividend and you get the remainder.
EX-
10 ÷ 2 = 5 5
Here 10 is the Dividend=D 2 10
2 is the Divisor=D 10
