In the above example, number of books in each group is 2 and
total number of groups is 4. So instead of writing 2 + 2 + 2 +
2 the multiplication statement is 2×4=8.
Ex:
5 + 5 + 5
Here in this example the number 5 is being added
repeatedly and it is added 3 times.
So the multiplication statement for this is
5 × 3 = 15 { the first number (5) is the number that
is being added repeatedly and the second number(3) is the
number of times 5 is being added}
Number that is being repeated × number of times the number is
repeated = product
In 5 × 3 = 15
