 Words that end with a consonant+’f’ or ‘fe’, “ves” will be replaced in the
place of “f” or “fe” to make the word plural.

Example- wolf= wolves

knife= knives

 Words that end with “sh”, “ch”, “o”, “s”, “ss” and “x”, “es” will be
added to make the word plural.

Example- bench – benches

bush – bushes

grass – grasses

box – boxes

bus – buses

mango – mangoes

Learning outcome: Students can change naming words from singular to

plural by adding ( 'es', 'ies' ,'ves').
