Q2) Explain Resultant force. A force of 50N is acting due east and another force of
100N is acting due west. Calculate the resultant force? Is the force balanced or
unbalanced? In which direction will the object move? Justify with the help of a diagram.
Q4) Take a ball and place it on a level surface. Make the ball move by giving it a push.
Now place a ruler in its path. In doing so, you would apply a force on the moving ball.
Does the ball continue to move in the same direction after it strikes the ruler? Repeat
the activity and try to obstruct the moving ball by placing the ruler in such a way that it
makes different angles to its path. Record your observations in a tabular format. What
conclusion do you draw from the activity?
Q5) In the following example, try to identify the number of times the velocity of ball
changes:
A football player kicks a football to another player of his team who kicks the football
towards the goal. The goalkeeper of the opposite team collects the football and kicks it
towards a player of his own team.
Also identify the agent supplying the force in each case.
