The flexibility of the cell membrane enables the cell to engulf the food by the help of
pseudopodia from it’s surrounding environment by the process of endocytosis.
Endocytosis
It is the process in which substances are brought into the cell from the external
environment. It is how cells get the nutrients they need to grow and develop.
Substances internalized by endocytosis include fluids, electrolytes, proteins, and
other macromolecules.
