A fraction represents a part of a whole , which consists of numerators and

denominators. eg ,

Ratio is the comparison between two quantities or comparison of one value to the other
one .General form is a:b –( Read as a is to b)
PERCENTAGE: Symbol- %
This is the another way to comparing the quantities. Meaning is per hundred
Finding percentage : Example
If there are 7 oranges out of 25 fruits , The comparison can be
METHOD 1: Fraction Method
By fraction Method(Equivalent fraction taking denominator 100)
7 oranges out of 25 fruits= 7 4 = 28 = 28%
25 4 100
METHOD 2 : Unitary method
Out of 25 , no of oranges –7
Out of 1 , no of oranges – 7/25

Out of 100, no of oranges = x 100= 28 oranges
25
We can say there will be 28 oranges out of 100 fruits , which is 28%.
So percentage of orange= 28%
