Cell wall: In plant cells, the cell membrane is covered by another outer covering called
the cell wall. It is nonliving, thick and rigid.It is made up of cellulose. It is freely
permeable to all substances.It protects the plant cells from variation in temperature,high
speed wind, atmospheric moisture, etc. It provides definite shape and rigidity to plant
cells.
