Parts of the cell:The three basic components of cell areCell membrane,Cytoplasm
and Nucleus.
Cell membrane or Plasma membrane: The cytoplasm and nucleus are covered by
cell membrane. It is the living component of cell. It is made up of proteins and lipids
(Fats). It is elastic and porous (having microscopic holes). It is selectively permeable or
semipermeable in nature as it allows the entry and exit of selected substances to pass
through it. Substances like water enters the cell and comes out from cell by osmosis.
Gases like oxygen go into the cell and carbon dioxide comes out of the cell by
diffusion.Plasma membrane separates the cell from other cells and from the
surrounding medium. It gives shape to animal cell and protects the inner content of the
cell.
