               After this lesson, students will be able to:


                   •  Define and explain the characteristics of short stories and
                       narratives.
                   •  Analyse characteristics of short stories.
                   •  Create a short narrative story with collaboration.
                   •  Put the skills to the pen and work to create a short story.
                   •  Develop writing skills in the context of writing a short story.
                   •  Develop the ability to identify and use narrative tenses while
                       writing.

                   •  Develop the ability to work co-operatively in pairs or in a small
                       group.
                   •  Recognize the elements of a short story.
                   •  Develop their functional writing skills.
                   •  Display experience of writing creatively in the medium of the short
                       story.

                   •  Strengthen their functional writing skills by preparing short stories.
                   •  Learn the importance of specificity, descriptions, and explanations
                       in academia, speech, and other areas of life.
                   •  Acknowledge the importance of storytelling, the rough draft, and
                       creativity in storytelling.

                   •  Write strong endings to their narratives.
