Grammar-CLAUSES
LEARNING OUTCOME:
To understand the meaning of clause
To differentiate between a phrase & a clause
To learn the different types of clauses
To identify noun, adjective & adverbial clauses in a sentence
To use various types of clauses (noun,adverb &adjective)to convey
specific meanings and add variety and interest to writing and
presentations.

CLAUSES:
DEFINITION: A clause “a group of words containing a subject and
predicate and functioning as a member of a complex or compound
sentence.”
Example:
o I graduated last year. (One clause sentence)
o When I came here, I saw him. (Two clause sentence)
o When I came here, I saw him, and he greeted me. (Three clause sentence)
