Les conjonctions (Conjuntions)

Conjuntions are used to join two short sentences into a longer one.

Conjontion Anglais Exemple

Parce que, parce Because Elle mange parce qu’elle a
qu’(before vowels) faim.(she eats because
she is hungry)

Et And Il danse et il chante. (he
dances and he sings)

Mais But Il fait beau mais elle ne
sort pas. (the weather is
good but she doesnot

leave)

Quand When Ellle aime sortir quand il
fait beau. (she likes to
leave when the weather is
good )

Si, s’ (before ‘il ‘ ) If Elle va a la plage s’il fait
beau. (she is going to the
beach if the weather is
good.

Puis Then Elle va a la plage puis elle
joue dans l’eau.(she goes

to the beach then she
plays in the water.)

Ou Or Mange – t- elle du
chocolat ou des
bonbons ?(does she eat
some chocolates or
toffees ?

Donc Therefore Il n’y a pas de lait donc
elle va a la crémerie.(there
is no water therefore she
goes to the dairy shop.)
