Proceedure- Take about 5 ml of vinegar in a test tube.

Add a pinch of baking soda to it.

Observation-Bubbles of gas coming out with a hissing sound .

If we pass the gas through freshly prepared lime water, it turns lime water milky.

Inference-When baking soda addedt to vinegar , carbon dioxide gas(a new
               substance) is produced.

When carbon dioxide gas is passed through lime water, it turns lime water milky due
to the formation of another new substance .

This change can be represented as

Carbon dioxide + Lime water Calcium carbonate +water

               CO2 Ca (OH)2 CaCO3 H2O
