               Introduction (Reading Activity)


               A proverb is a simple, concrete, traditional saying that expresses a perceived truth based on common
               sense or experience. Proverbs are often metaphorical and use formulaic language. Collectively, they form
               a genre of folklore




               What Is a PROVERB? ( to be written on the CW Notebook)



                 a short popular saying, usually of unknown and ancient origin, that expresses effectively some
                   commonplace truth or useful thought; adage; saw.
                 a wise saying or precept; a didactic sentence.
