  Fish are covered with a layer of flexible, overlapping scales which protect their soft body
                   and do not allow water to enter their body.

                 The bodies of reptiles like snake, crocodile and lizard too are covered with scales. most
                   reptiles have horny scales that prevent water loss from their bodies and protect them from
                   predators.














              3)  Feathers:
                 Birds are covered with feathers. Feathers help them to fly.
                  They also protect the birds from rain and cold















              4)  Shell

          Animals like snail, tortoise and turtle are protected by a hard covering around their bodies called
            shell.

          These animals withdraw their head and feet into the shell when they sense danger.














              5)  Hard body covering
                 Insects such as cockroaches and grasshoppers have a hard covering on their body for
                   protection.
