2. GILLS





               Most aquatic animals                                                                          GILLS

                   such as fish and crabs

                   use gills for breathing.


               A tadpole also breaths

                   through gills.


               Gills are thin organs

                   that have a rich supply


                   of blood vessels.


               When water

                   containing oxygen

                   passes over the gills,

                   they absorb oxygen

                   from the water and

                   release carbon

                   dioxide from the

                   blood.
