Most aquatic animals GILLS
such as fish and crabs
use gills for breathing.
A tadpole also breaths
through gills.
Gills are thin organs
that have a rich supply
of blood vessels.
When water
containing oxygen
passes over the gills,
they absorb oxygen
from the water and
release carbon
dioxide from the
blood.
