Sub topic 3 : 2 D and 3 D shapes
Shapes are of two types –i) 2D-shapes
ii)3D-shapes
2D-shapes:
It has 2 dimensions that is length and breadth.
They are also called as flat shapes.
Ex- Rectangle, square, triangles etc.
Square- A square has 4 sides and 4 vertices.
Rectangle- A rectangle has 4 sides and 4 vertices .
Triangle- A triangle has 3 sides and 3 vertices.
Circle- A circle has no sides and no vertices.
3D- Shapes:
It has 3 dimensions that is length ,breadth and height.
They are also known as solid shapes.
Ex- Cube, cuboid, sphere and cone etc.
Cuboid- A cuboid has 6 faces, 12 edges and 8 vertices.
Cube- A cube has 6 faces,12 edges and 8 vertices.
