i)Floating Aquatic Plants: Plants such as duckweed, mosquito fern, water
hyacinth and water meal are free floating plants. They have spongy bodies
which keep them afloat.
ii) Fixed AquaticPlants: Some plants like water lily and lotus have roots
that fix the plants in the mud at the bottom of the pond. They are known
as fixed aquatic plants. They have plate-like leaves that float over the
surface of the water.
iii) Under water plants: These plants grow under water and remain
submerged. These plants also keep the water clean.Eg.Hydrilla, Tape
