  Olympics are a set of International sports events that happen once every 4

                   years. Each time, it is hosted by a different country. It includes 42 sports some
                   of which are archery, swimming, baseball, boxing, tennis, weightlifting, etc.
                 All sportspersons aspire for the gold, silver and bronze medal of Olympics as it
                   is the oldest and one of the biggest sports events held in the world.

                 “Goal’ is a memoir written by Dhyan Chand. He was a hockey player. He is

                   popularly called ‘The Wizard of Hockey’.

                 Dhyan Chand is sharing his journey to winning the Olympic Gold in the year
                   1928. He aimed for the Olympic gold and achieved it.

                 The modern Olympics as we know today, began late back in the year 1896 in
                   Athens, Greece. In the beginning, Hockey was not a part of Olympics. But in
                   1908, hockey made its debut in London Olympics where England won the gold

                   medal.

                 In 1925, Indian Hockey Federation was formed who requested the
                   International Olympic Committee to include hockey in Olympics. So, on the

                   appeal of IHF, hockey was made an Olympic sport in the 9  Olympic Games in
                   the year 1928.


                 The Indian hockey team of 13 players set sail to Amsterdam on March 10,
                   1928. The people of India along with the team members, somewhere, were
                   doubtful about the Indian hockey federation’s decision of participating in the
                   Olympics Games. But the hockey team was determined to show the world
                   their potential.

                 Finally, the day arrived. They confidently marched into the stadium to play
                   their first match against Austria. They had travelled thousands of miles for this

                   purpose which was to prove the world that India was the best in hockey. They
                   easily beat their opponent teams in the first three matches against Austria,
                   Belgium and Denmark, thus achieving a hat-trick of victories and qualified for
                   the semi-finals. In addition to this, they did not give their opponents a single
                   chance to score a goal against them. Their goalkeeper, Allen, stopped the
                   attacks of their opponents.
