SOURCES OF WATER

 Water is a precious natural resource. All living things need water for their
              survival.

 There are various sources of water. About 97% of the water on the Earth’s
surface is covered with ocean water. (Rest 3% of water is found in the form

of of glaciers and ice etc).

 Rain being the major sources of water on the Earth in the form of surface
              and groundwater.

 Groundwater – The water beneath the surface of the ground, consisting

largely of surface water that has seeped down. This includes water bodies
              like Wells and Springs.

 Surface water –The water that gets collected on the surface of the ground.
This includes different water bodies like Sea, Oceans, Reservoirs, Rivers,

              Streams, Ponds, Lakes and Tanks.

 Surface water can also be man-made or artificial sources of water (tanks ,
              reservoirs ).
