SUBTRACTION OF MONEY

Learning objectives: Students will learn to solve the problems using subtraction.

               EXAMPLE:Subtract ₹ 36.92 from ₹ 48.58

                                              ₹ P

               48 . 58

                - 36 . 92

                 = 11 . 66

               Step1:

Subtract paise from paise and rupees from rupees.

Step2: Write the amount in such a way that the dot comes below the dot.

Step3: While regrouping, paise can be borrowed from rupees column by using the fact that

                           ₹1 = 100p.

               ₹ 48.58- ₹ 36.92= ₹ 11.66

Learning outcome:Students are able to solve the problems using subtraction.
