                Explanation

                   1 Rupee = 100 Paise

. Conversion of Rupees into Paise

NOTE:To convert rupees into paise, we multiply the amount in rupees by 100.

Example: convert 5 rupees into paise.

               Solution: 1 rupee = 100 paise

                Thus, 5 rupees = 5×100 = 500paise

                   • Conversion of Rupees and Paise into Paise

NOTE: To convert ‘rupees into paise’ we multiply the amount in rupees by 100 and add to it the
               number of paise.

Example: convert 8 rupees 70 paise into paise

               Solution: 1 rupee= 100 paise

               8 rupees= 8 × 100 = 800paise

                 800paise + 70paise = 870paise

               Thus, 8 rupees 70 paise=870paise

                   • Conversion of paise into rupees

NOTE: To convert paise into rupees we divide the amount in paise by 100.

Example: convert 400 paise into rupees

                   Solution: we know that

                                     100 paise = 1rupee

                   Thus, 400 paise = 400 ÷ 100 = 4 rupees
