Problems on addition and subtraction
Learning Objective– Students will be able to learn about problems on addition and
subtraction.
Explanation
We will understand through an example.
Q) 433 - 190 – 608 + 500
The first number is always added, that is 433
The number having a + sign before it will be added that is 500.
The number having a – sign before it will be subtracted (608 and 190).
Solution: First addition is done then subtraction.
Step 1: Calculate the total addition: 433 + 500 = 933
Step 2: Calculate the total subtraction: 190 + 608 = 798
Step 3: Total addition – total subtraction = 933 – 798 = 135

Thus, 433 - 190 – 608 + 500 = 135
