Subtraction of weights

We Subtract weights in the same way as numbers

 We make two separate columns for kg and g and subtract.

 Examples: a) Subtract 2 kg 521 g from 4 k 201 g

kg g Step-1 First solve the grams column
1 -1 = 0

4 2 0 1 Borrowed from the next place (from 2),
10 – 2 = 8

- 2 5 2 1 Left 1, again borrowed from the next
place(from 4)

= 1 6 8 0 11 – 5 = 6
Step-2 Then solve the kg column

Left 3 – 2 = 1

Thus, 4 k 201 g - 2 kg 521 g = 1 kg 680 g
