P. 2
Conversion of weight
Learning Objective– Students will be able to learn about conversion of weight.
Explanation
Conversion of weight
Let’s learn how to convert kilogram into gram.
We know that 1 kg = 1000 gm
(1) To convert kilogram into gram, multiply kilogram by 1000.
Example
Convert 6 kg into grams
1 kg = 1000 g
Therefore, 6 kg = 6 x 1000 = 6000 g
(2) To convert kilogram and gram into gram, multiply kilogram by 1000 and add the grams.
Example
Convert 8 kg 750 g into grams
1 kg = 1000 g
8 kg = 8 x 1000 g = 8000 g
8 kg 750 g = 8000 g + 750 g = 8750 g
Let’s now learn how to convert gram into kilogram.
Examples
5275 g = 5000 g + 275g
We know that 5000 g = 5 kg
So, 5275 g = 5 kg + 275 g = 5 kg 275 g
Learning outcome-Students are able to learn about conversion of weight.
