Addition of lengths

Learning Objective – Students will be able to learn about addition of lengths.

Explanation

Addition of units of length

Arrange the number in column according to the units. First add smaller unit then add larger
unit. Then add like normal numbers.
Example 1: Example 2:

m cm a) Add km m 24m 14cm and 35m

24 14 13cm b) 21 685 Add 21km 685 m and 16
km 950 m
+ 35 13 + 16 950

= 59 27 = 38 635
