NON-STANDARD UNIT OF MEASURING LENGTH
In earlier days, people used their body parts such as
hand, palm, feet to measure the length of objects.
Foot span: It is the length of a foot.
Handspan: It is the width of a palm.
Cubit: It is the length of the arm from elbow to the
finger tips.
These units differed from person to person making
the measurements non-uniform.
Therefore, theses are known as non-standard unit of
measurement.
