Learning objective: Students should be able to know about the digestive system and the
functions of the organs associated to it.
Digestive System
Our body needs food to get energy to do work. In order to use food, it must first break down
into smaller substances that the various organs and cells in our body can use. This process of
breaking down of food into simpler form that can be used by the body is called Digestion.
Mouth, food pipe, stomach, small intestine, large intestine are the organs that help in the
process of digestion and together form the Digestive system.
Learning outcome: Students learnt about the digestive system, organs related to it and its
functions.
