Learning objective: Students should recognize about flowers and fruits and seeds.
Flowers
Flowers are the most attractive part of the plant. Small buds produce flowers. They are of
different shapes, sizes and colours. Most of the flowers are brightly coloured and have a
sweet smell. Some flowers change into fruits that contain seeds in it.
Fruits and Seeds
Fruits are mostly formed from flowers. Generally, plants store food in their fruits. Fruits
contain seeds in it. Some fruits have only one seed like mango where as some fruits have
few seeds like apple and some fruits have many seeds like watermelon.
Seeds contains a baby plant and its food inside it. This process of the growth of a new plant
from a seed is called as Germination.
Learning outcome: Students understood about flowers, fruits and seeds and their functions.
