Learning Objective: Children will learn about the planets in the solar system.
The Planets
Our Earth is like a huge ball that goes around the sun. There are other large bodies, known
as planets which go around the sun. There are eight planets, including the Earth. The eight
planets and their satellites along with some heavenly bodies form the solar system. The
eight planets are: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune. Mercury is
the closest planet and Neptune is the farthest planet. Planets do not have light of their own.
Learning outcome: Children learnt about the planets in the solar system.
