adjectives. We add "than" when we are
comparing two nouns. eg- She
is smallar than Rita
We add "est" to the superlative form.
eg- Soft- softer- softest
If the adjective ends with "e", you only
COMPARATIVE have to add "er" and "est"
AND Eg- Rude- Ruder- Rudest
SUPERLATIVE
If it ends with a consonant and has a
single vowel in the middle and is a
short word. The consonant will be
doubled.
eg- Wet- wetter- wettest
We always add "THE" infront of the
superlative degree.
We use the superlative eg-The softest toy
degree when we are
comparing more than If the adjective ends with "y", we
two nouns. change the y to an i and add er and est.
Eg- Dirty- Dirtier- Dirtiest
If it has two or more syllables you
add -more or most.
eg- Beautiful- more beautiful- most
beautiful
There are some irregular adjectives
that dont follow any of these rules.
eg- Good- better- best
