Words like --- YOURS MINE HERS OURS show

ownership or possession of something and so they are called

possessive pronoun.

They are also used to avoid repetition.

Let us see some examples:- ( These sentences are not

wrong but repetitive)

1. Your phone is better than my phone.

Your phone is better than mine.

2. These toys are my toys , not your toys.

These toys are mine , not yours.

3. This is his cat, not your cat.

This cat is his, not yours.
