GENDER NOUNS
Learning Objective: Children will learn how to form male and female nouns. They will
also be able to distinguish between common and neuter gender too.
Things to remember:
With animals, there is one general word for the animal and special words for the male
and female.
Example: Sheep – ram (male)
ewe (female)
Sometimes the word for the male animal is the same as the general word.
Example: Tiger – tiger (male)
tigress (female)
Sometimes the word for the female is the same as the general word.
Example: Duck – drake (male)
duck (female)
Learning Outcome: Children were able to differentiate between different types of gender.
