P. 4

 Step 3 – Next add the Tens. 3 + 8 + 1 (carried over) = 12 Tens.
Write 2 under the Tens and carry 1 to the Hundreds column.

                      Step 4 – Next add the Hundreds. 4 + 4 + 1 (carried over)= 9
                         Hundreds.

                         Therefore the sum is 922.

Learning outcome: The students were able to add 3-digit numbers with
              carryover.

              Lp- 4: Addition Story Problems

Learning objective: The students will be able to apply the knowledge of
addition to solve story problems in real life context.

 A word problem is a situation explained in words that can be
                     solved using math.
 Visualizing the addition story problems in terms of the information

given helps in finding the solution.

Let us learn about story problem with the help of an example.

Example: A girl jumps 42cm during her first jump in a high jump
competition. Her second jump is 46cm. How high did she jump in
                 total?

                 Solution:
Height jumped by a girl at first jump = 42 cm

Height jumped by a girl at second jump= 46 cm
