Introduction to measuring capacity (Standard units):

Learning objective: Students will be able to measure capacity using
                 Standard units of measurement.

 Liquids as we all know have no regular shape. So, we calculate
their volume by the capacity of the container they are held in.

 The standard units of measuring capacity are Litres and Milliliters.
Litre is written as “l” and millilitre is written as “ml”.

 We measure large quantities in litres. We use liters when
measuring the volume of large amounts of liquid such as:

                              - A bottle of unhealthy sugar water is 1 L.

                              - A bucket holds 10 L of water.

                              - A swimming pool holds 375,000 L of water.
