Introduction to measuring capacity (Non-standard units):
Learning objective: Students will be able to measure capacity using (Non-
standard units).
Capacity means measurement of any liquid form.
The capacity of a container is the amount of liquid it can hold. Thus
Capacity is how much quantity a container can hold.
All the containers without any proper or accurate measurements are the
examples of non-standard units.
The vessels which are larger in size can hold more liquid as compared
to the vessels which are smaller in size.
A bucket holds more liquid while a glass holds
less quantity of liquid.
We can use bucket , bottle , glass
, cup , mug , etc to measure capacity. These are non-
standard units of measuring capacity.
Learning outcome: Students were able to measure capacity using non-
standard units.
