Introduction to measuring weight (Non-standard units):
Learning objective: Students will be able to measure the weight of an
object using any non-standard units such as marbles, blocks, cubes or

• The weight of an object is a measure of its heaviness, that is, how heavy
or how light the object is.
• We can measure whether an object is heavy or light by observing it,
lifting it or comparing with some other objects. These are known as Non-
standard units for measuring weight.
• Some examples for non-standard measuring units: marbles , stones
, blocks etc.
