Learning objective: Children will learn about the sources of food or where
the food comes from.
The sources of food are broadly classified into two groups.
Food from Plants
Food from Animals
Plants provide us vegetables, fruits, tea, coffee, cereals (wheat),
pulses (lentil, kidney beans), sugar, oil, spices (cardamom).
Human consumes different parts of plants.
Example: Roots (carrot), Stem(ginger), Leaves(cabbage),
Flowers(cauliflower), Fruits(apple), Seeds (fenugreek seeds). These
are the important source of fibers, proteins and carbohydrates.
Food obtained from animals is the main source of protein.
The food obtained from animals are fish, milk, meat, poultry and
cheese.
Learning outcome: Children learnt about the sources of food or where the
food comes from.
