Learning objective: Children will learn about different body parts of a
birds and their function.

 As we have different body parts in our body and different body parts
have different function, similarly birds also have different body parts in
their body. They have---
• Head—It is covered with feathers. Some time there is extra growth
of feathers in the head called Crown
• Eyes—Birds have two eyes. Eyes help them to see different
things.
• Beak— Birds have one beak. As we have mouth, birds have beak.
Beak helps them to pick the food. Shape of the beak is different for
different birds according to the food habit of the bird.
• Wings—Birds have two wings. Wings help them to fly.
• Claws—As we have palm, birds have paw. Claws are present in
paw of the bird. It helps the bird to hold the food.
• Legs—Birds have two legs to walk.
• Tail—Tail helps the bird to change the direction while flying.
