Learning objective: The students will be able recognize the present
continuous tense and use it in a sentence.

Present continuous tense is used when we refer to actions that are
happening or going on right now.

For example – I am writing a letter now.

               • Present continuous tense is formed by adding -

‘Is’, ‘am’ or ‘are’ + verb + ing

                          For example –

                          She is singing.

I am waiting for the train.

                          They are jumping.

               • The verb ‘is’ is used with a singular noun and pronoun in the
               sentence.

                       For example –

He is playing with his brother.

               • The verb ‘am’ is used with the pronoun ‘I’.

                        For example –

I am going to my school.

               • The verb ‘are’ is used with a plural noun or pronoun and the singular
               ‘you’ in a sentence.

                        For example –

You are helping your mother in the kitchen.

                        They are playing football.

Learning outcome: The students were able to recognize the present
continuous tense and used it in a sentence.
