Learning objective: The students will be able to recognize and use the
               simple past tense while writing.

We use simple past tense when we want to talk about things that have
               already happened.

               • It is used to show that a completed action took place at
a specific time in the past.

               • The simple past is also frequently used to talk about
               past habits.

•The simple past is usually formed using the verb + ed
               or –d.

               • An irregular verb is one that does not form its simple past tense by
adding "-ed" or "-d". For example- Drink- Drank, eat- ate, get-got.

               • There are some spelling rules for simple past tense. If the verb ends

with a “y”, you change it to “i” and add –ed. For eg- Cry- cried

Learning outcome: The students were able to recognize and use the
               simple past tense in writing.
