simple past tense while writing.
We use simple past tense when we want to talk about things that have
already happened.
• It is used to show that a completed action took place at
a specific time in the past.
• The simple past is also frequently used to talk about
past habits.
•The simple past is usually formed using the verb + ed
or –d.
• An irregular verb is one that does not form its simple past tense by
adding "-ed" or "-d". For example- Drink- Drank, eat- ate, get-got.
• There are some spelling rules for simple past tense. If the verb ends
with a “y”, you change it to “i” and add –ed. For eg- Cry- cried
