Learning objective: The students will be able to learn about simple
present tense.
See what our daily life routine is:
I wake up at 6 am in the morning.
I brush my teeth.
I take a shower.
I eat my breakfast.
I go to school by bus.
So, above lines are my daily basis life schedule or I can say these are all
habitual actions which we follow in our everyday life. So, all these action
words (wake, brush, take, eat, go) are in present form. We call it as simple
present tense.
Simple present tense is used to express routines or habits ,
General truth and facts.
For example:
We play together in the park.
They dance really well.
I comb my hair before going to school.
But remember the verbs in the third person singular (he, she, it and in
general truth and facts) always take an‘s’. For example:
Nancy cooks well.
She loves to eat pizza.
He drives his car very well.
Sun rises in the east.
Rain gives water to life.
Time passes quickly.
