Can you tell me what the difference

               between the girls in this given picture?
               Yes, the difference is in the distance
               between the dog and the girl. In the first picture the dog is near the girl. So,
               the girl can say: This is a dog. In the second picture the dog is far from the

               girl. So, the girl can say: That is a dog. So, here This and That are used to
               point at the distance for a singular thing, person or animal. These and
               Those are used to say distance for plural things, persons or animals. They

               are also called Demonstrative pronoun.

               A demonstrative pronoun is a pronoun that is used

               for pointing out something, some people or some
               animals. So, here is one more example.
