Exceptions:
Sometimes a word may begin with a consonant
but we use the article ‘an’ before it.
Do you know why?
The use of ‘a’ or ‘an’ depends on the beginning
sound.
For example – Hour
We see that the beginning of the word starts with
a consonant ‘h’ but we hear a vowel sound.
So, we use the article ‘An’
An Hour.
Similarly, when we hear the consonant sound,
we use article ‘a’
Example : A hat
