Topic: Sequencing and summarizing a story.

The clever crow

It was a hot summer day. The sun was so hot and its rays so warm that everything
around was heated. The animals in the forest were all in their trees or holes hiding

from the heat. A crow was passing by the forest but the sun was so hot that he started
to feel thirsty. He needed some water or else he would not be able to fly. He looked
around for a water hole or pond but he could not find any water body. The crow was

now feeling very weak but he decided to keep searching. Soon he found a pot with
very little water inside. But his beak could not reach the water! The crow was a clever
bird, he started to pick stones from the ground and drop them into the pot. Slowly the

water started to rise and he was so happy. The crow drank all the water and happily
flew away. His clever thinking saved his life.
