For example - The dog ran.
The dog is the subject of the sentence, because the sentence is telling
something about that dog.
And what is it telling? It says that the dog ran.
So in this example the subject is “dog” and the predicate is “ran.”
The subject or naming part is usually a noun or pronoun that tells us
who or what the sentence is about.
The predicate or telling part is usually a verb. It is an action that the
subject is doing. It tells us what the subject is doing in the sentence.
Learning outcome: The students learnt how to identify the naming part
and telling part in a sentence.
