Topic- National Development Council and NITI Aayog
Short Notes :
National Development Council (NDC):
The National Development Council or Rastriya Vikas Parishad is
the apex body for decision creating and deliberations on
development matters in India.
The Chairperson of the NDC is the Prime Minister.

It was established on 6 August 1952.
The main purpose of its creation is to strengthen and mobilize the
efforts and resources of the nation in support for the Five Year
plans made by the Planning commission.
The Council comprises the Prime Minister, the Union Cabinet
ministers, Chief Ministers of all states or their substitutes
representatives of the Union Territories and the members of the
NITI Aayog.
The NDC has been proposed to be abolished. But till date no
resolution has been passed on this.
Since the inception of NITI Aayog, the NCD has had no work
assigned to it nor did it have any meetings.
