1. Common Development Goals

 Most people want:

o Regular work

o Better wages

o Fair prices for what they produce
All of these help them earn more income.

2. Non-Material Goals

People also want:
 Equal treatment

 Freedom

 Security

 Respect from others

 No discrimination

➡️ These non-material goals are just as important — sometimes even more important than
income.

3. Importance of Non-Material Things
 Money is necessary, but not everything.

 Friendship, dignity, job satisfaction, and a safe environment are crucial to a good life.

 Example: A secure job with family time may be better than a high-paying but stressful
one.

4. Mixed Goals of Development

People want a mix of goals, such as:

 Good income

 Job security
 Work-life balance
